The Heavy Meta Crew Went To Elements Festival And Documented It All: See The Video Now

Elements Music Festival took place in late may with multiple incredible stages, performers, and people involved. The ‘Fire stage’ featured Canada’s Heavy Meta stage with Jamie of MixedProductions and Oscar Swinks art coming together to document their journey.

The crew, most fresh from Hyperborea, set off to the festival on Thursday and didn’t stop documenting the whole time.

Toronto Is Getting A Party In An Abandoned Supermarket Next Month

In the quest to create a community of art cars/mutant vehicles in Toronto the same folk who created a Winter wonderland within the newly redesigned walls of The Mod Club are taking it to a new level. The teams behind Heavy Meta (as seen at Minus Zero Festival, Distillery District, Casa Loma, Ever After etc), and the Ark Car (currently under the magical build at The 4tress) are inviting you to party in an abandoned supermarket in the heart of Kensington Market.

Fairland (241 Augusta): An incredible abandoned grocery store in the heart of Kensington Market. It has only been used for an event once before and looked vastly different. Construction will begin on this space the minute the team cleans up, and this is your last chance to see it before the flood washes over.
All proceeds will benefit Heavy Meta and The Ark art cars’ 2018 builds, upgrades and Hyperborea theme camps.

The Flood

The Flood, which takes over the city on May 5th will feature the sounds of ME TIME, SNAZZIEJ, BEN CORMIER, STEINTOLOGY, JESSE CHAMPAGNE, and FUCKLEBERRY HINN.

Costume suggestions: Think Waterworld wasteland scavenger, boatpunk mermaid, two of every animal.

ABOUT HEAVY META: Heavy Meta is Canada’s largest art car, a 30 foot-long, 19 foot-high, metal fire-breathing dragon. Since May, the beast has toured North America and played host to music legends like Diplo, Jazzy Jeff, Hatiras and Culture Shock from New York to Burning Man at 15 events. In 2018, the dragon will be receiving fire, animatronic and lighting upgrades to make the head fully articulate, brand new fully animated wings, and LED skeleton.

ABOUT THE KATHEDRAL: The Kathedral is Toronto’s newest art car project taking shape at The 4tress, built on the chassis of a GMC Sierra 3500 flatbed truck. Featuring extensive CNC work, custom metal fabrication, and a booming altar soundsystem, this religious icon will soon be seen at festivals and regional burns around North America.”

Cleveland Rocks: The Heavy Meta Team Brings A Dragon To The Streets Of Drew Carey’s City

Back at it for another Maker Faire the Heavy Meta Dragon crew drove to Ohio this time to showcase the 30ft art car. This round of Maker Faire tour brought more 3D printers, a NASA experience truck, and a trebuchet.

Even walking up the street towards the venue you could hear the dragon purring, and growling while it breathing fire thanks to Heavy Meta resident DJ Rapzkallion. Following the event the makers behind the trebuchet took a break from flinging pumpkins to shoot some water balloons at the dragon fora photo op. You can catch Heavy Meta at their last Maker Faire stop of 2017 in Rochester on November 18th, and prepare for 2018 tour announcements soon.

A Hot Show Indeed: Prozzäk, Destiny And Heavy Meta Get Freaky For Halloween

Funny enough this is my 666th post on, and what better to write about than a Halloween party yeah? If there are two things the internet loves in October it is spoopy activities, and 90’s nostalgia (also pumpkin spiced bs but whatever).
Destiny has been bringing drum ‘n’ bass events to life for well over a decade, for so long now that even baby raver Nikki went to a ton of their parties. Even more baby Nikki grew up in the 90’s listening to Prozzäk and on October 28th at 401 Mini Indy all of those things will be combined PLUS HEAVY META.
