#CinemaSunday: Horror Flicks On Netflix This Month

The month of October provides many wonderful excuse to curl up with a good horror film. The crisp Fall weather, the countdown to Halloween, and Cinema Sunday makes it’s return to thenikkisin.com.

Netflix (Canadian version because I live in Drakeville) has you covered if you don’t want to make your way to the movie theatre (to spend 30+ dollars to sit in someone else’s sweat and not be able to pause the film to go get snacks). I’ve done you a favor and compiled a short list of some of the MANY spoopy flicks available on the major streaming service this month.

(No chill was harmed in the making of this list)

Fun fact: Netflix did not sponsor this post but they are more than welcome to sponsor my site tbh.

#CinemaSunday: Secret Obsession (2019)

I’ve been off my Cinema Sunday game for a hot minute so this is a throwback for me to write again. Netflix finally released a new original horror film after The Babysitter and I was pretty stoked to watch.

GENRE: Horror/Thriller

A woman (played by Brenda Song) awakens in the hospital with a man who claims to be her husband. Rushing to bring her memory back she must figure out what is true and what is not.

FUN FACT: Brenda Song is best known as London Tipton from The Suite Life Of Zack And Cody.

Trash. I skipped through most of the movie because of how boring and predictable it was. The acting was terrible and not believable in the slightest.

This is the poor man’s Misery.

3 Tipton Hotel’s out of 10

Who should watch this?

You (so you can suffer too)
Ashley Tisdale
The cast of Riverdale
Logan Paul (because I hate him)

Ashley O Has An Official Music Video And Now We Live In A Black Mirror Episode

Arguably the best episode of the season “Rachel, Jack and Ashley Too” (let’s face it the other two episodes were a pile of meh) is the dark side of pop music, and fandom.

Starring Miley Cyrus, the episode follows fictional pop star Ashley O, her insane aunt, and her #1 fan who befriends a robot. Confusing? Yeah it’s Black Mirror of course it is.

Cyrus took to another pop star persona quickly (RIP Hannah Montana), changing her Twitter name, and profile picture to Ashley O. Now taking it to a new level, let’s take a look at Ashley O’s first official music video outside the Black Mirror world.

#MCM: The Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina’s Gavin Leatherhead

Unpopular opinion: the Christmas special of the spooky new Netflix show wasn’t as good as I had hoped. I think I held out too much for a Riverdale crossover and was left disappointed.

The first #MCM of 2019 though is Gavin Leatherhead (Nick Scratch) and I’m hoping this post brings us together for a ship no one wanted except me.

My Top 5 Netflix Picks for A New Year’s Day Binge

If I said I hadn’t posted this on Locals for Narcity I’d be lying.

January 1st is typically a day filled with pizza inhaling, hang-over nursing and the laziest of behaviour for many. What better way to spend the first day of the year than binge-watching and inhaling snacks? I’m here to break down some of my top picks for your watching needs. Snuggle up with your NYE last call one-night stand, your significant other, or your bff as you both tear off each other’s lashes from the night before and watch some of these.

  1. Bird Box: Watch this simply to see what the hype is about. Seriously Twitter won’t stfu about this movie
  2. Friends: A CLASSIC, and you can argue with your squad about who is really the Joey of the group. I am the Chandler if you were wondering (which you weren’t)
  3. RuPaul’s Drag Race: The new season is just getting started so now you can catch up, and umm don’t f*ck it up.
  4. You: The new series starring Gossip Girl’s Dan Humphrey (I know he has a real name okay.)will have you hooked right away.
  5. Final Space: The poor man’s Rick and Morty is a fun watch and easily done in a day.

Colleen Ballinger Aka Miranda Sings Had A Baby

Despite her cameo in the Thank U, Next video Colleen Ballinger better known as Youtube sensation Miranda Sings did not get pregnant because she heard a rumor Ariana Grande did. The Netflix star gave birth after what felt like a 10-year pregnancy this week to a healthy baby boy. This is Ballinger’s first baby with fiancé Erik Stocklin.

In response to a fan on how she’s doing post-birth, the Haters Back Off star said  “So happy I’m not pregnant anymore. So in love with him! He’s so cute it’s actually offending me”

With no name for the baby boy yet all fans can do is guess, so let me know your guess in the comment section below.
