#TMITuesday: 10 Questions with Author, The Real World: Portland and MTV’s The Challenge Nia Moore

This week’s feature is a woman who was involved in one the biggest fights in The Real World history on The Real World: Portland. “Hurricane Nia” made a name for herself, fast on the popular reality show fighting with Averey and Johnny, teasing Jordan and of course her beef with the best cast member of the season: Daisy the dog. But Moore isn’t like that, and owns up to her mistakes. I had the chance to sit down and let Nia Moore clear the air on any drama, her “hook up” with Leeroy, and talk to her about her book, and work with Booty Belt in this week’s #TMITuesday interview.

1. Competing with Leroy, you appear on this season of The Challenge: Battle of the Exes II    ; among your competitors include Johnny Reily and Averey whom you had beef with on your season of The Real World did your time on The Challenge help mend any wounds there?

I actually mended my relationship with both Johnny and Averey well before the challenge. After our real world Portland reunion we squashed our differences, apologized and have been friends since. It meant a lot to me to show people that you can forgive your enemies and actually start over. Me and Averey should have always been friends, we just got off on the wrong foot.

2. Ok let’s get the truth out there, you and Leroy, did it happen?

Leeroy and I are just friends! We are actually like brother and sister. I talk to him just about everyday. But no, we were not romantically involved.

3. How have you changed as a person since your Real World experience? Because there is obviously more to you than what we see on TV.

I came on to reality tv being myself and willing to show all sides of me. I own up to my mistakes and my flaws. I’m not perfect but I think people respect and my honesty, for better or worse. I’ve learned at this point that I need to think about consequences first, before I act. At the end of the day I am not a violent or mean person, but if I allow myself to be portrayed that way, even for a moment, than it’s my fault.

4. Let’s get weird: Zach’s sweat, you drank it on an episode of the Challenge as a bet, describe the taste using only song titles.

Lol, I can’t think of any song titles to describe it. But for the record I didn’t actually drink it. As soon as I put it in my mouth I instantly threw it up lol. It was disgusting. But it was a dare we were just having fun.

5. Since today is #TMITuesday can you tell the readers something about you they may not already know?

I really want to have my own show. The Real World and Challenges are cool but I want to have my own platform that strictly surrounds me and my life and the things I go through. I think I am entertaining enough to stand on my own.

6. Would you consider appearing on Bad Girls Club?

I would never do bad girls club. I was asked to do the show years ago. I just don’t believe what it stands for. Bringing black women (mostly) into a house to abuse each other for entertainment is not something. I believe in. Yes I got in a fight on tv, but that is not something I planned or am proud of.

7. Sell readers your book “How to Play the Game” in 2 sentences.

   My book is actually on hold right now! I had to make a decision last year to take time off to focus on Booty Belt which is the fitness device company I am a spokesmodel and partner in. It was hard because I already got to the editing stage but timing is everything! I hope I can get back to it this summer once I have more time.

8. What advice would you give cast members of Are You The One about dating, using your own book as reference?

I don’t know if my book necessarily pertains to them lol. It’s targeted towards women in relationships with professional athletes.

9. Which cast member of any season of The Challenge would you name as your “Man Crush Monday”?

I’m not sexually attracted to any of these guys. But if I had to pick maybe I’d say CJ. He was pretty cute and has a great smile.
