Until the premiere of Riverdale, I was worried I would be waiting forever for a third season of Scream to get my teen-murder-mystery fill. Rumours circulated that following the Halloween special in October that Scream would be cancelled as the show was only picked up for 10 episodes instead of 13 for season 3.
I was not prepared for another Finding Carter type deal having SO many unanswered questions so I could not have this show cancelled. Well MTV, and Deadline have confirmed they may as well have cancelled the show as they stated:
“The third season is getting a completely new cast and creative reboot, with new showrunner/exec producer Brett Matthews (The Vampire Diaries, Supernatural). Also signing as executive producers are Queen Latifah, Shakim Compere and Yaneley Arty for Flavor Unit Entertainment.”
Sigh, perhaps the show will have luck with the cast reboot like Skins, or American Horror Story but it is becoming incredibly obvious on Twitter that fans are not happy about a cast renewal.
I’m not sure how fans, or myself for that matter are going to find any enjoyment within the series without the questions we want answered and the characters we have grown to know and love.
