Degrassi, the beloved Canadian teen drama, will return as a darker hour-long TV series next year.
HBO Max has announced that it has greenlit a new take on the Toronto-set high school saga, which will premiere in spring 2023.

It’s touted as a “evolution” of the Degrassi story that “promises fans a voyage into fascinating new ground, both creatively and dramatically,” while staying true to the original.
The 10-episode season will be shot in Toronto this summer in collaboration with WildBrain Ltd., a Canadian production firm that owns the franchise’s rights.
The series will be led by showrunners Lara Azzopardi, who worked on Global’s Mary Kills People, and Julia Cohen, who worked on the CW’s teen drama Riverdale.
There is no word of returning Degrassi alumni hitting the screen but fans are certainly hoping for some guest spots.
You can watch Degrassi: The Next Generation season 1-14 on TUBI and Youtube and in the Spring on HBO Max to prepare for this new series.
