Fan-favourite couple Abbey Romeo and David Isaacman have officially called it quits after nearly five years together—and despite what fans thought, there’s zero scandal behind the split.

According to Abbey’s mom, Christine Romeo, the breakup wasn’t about a failed proposal, messy fights, or any dramatic fallout. In fact, she made it crystal clear: there was no blowout argument, no ring drama, and no big betrayal.

Instead, the real reason is way more low-key—but still kind of heartbreaking. Abbey and David simply grew in different directions. Over time, they realized they wanted different things out of life, with Christine explaining that David was happy living life one way, while Abbey envisioned something different.

Even the whole “Abbey wanted to get married” narrative? Not exactly what it seemed. Christine revealed that when Abbey talked about marriage, it was less about settling down and more about wanting to experience what she saw as a “normal” relationship milestone—think the idea of a wedding, not necessarily the reality of building a life together.

And while fans might be mourning the end of one of Love on the Spectrum’s most beloved couples, Christine insists the relationship was still a success. She described it as “fabulous” and said the two will always share a deep bond moving forward.

Bottom line: no cheating, no chaos—just two people who loved each other, grew a lot, and ultimately realized they weren’t on the same path anymore.
