Artist of the Week: Tanlines
Today’s artist of the week is pop-indie-electronic duo hailing from Brooklyn (which I can really on say like Biggie “where you from?” “Brooklyn.” or I starting humming Beastie Boys. Anyways).

Composing of of percussionist Jesse Cohen and guitarist and vocalist Eric Emm, the duo have been a staple on my playlists for a while now. Although I get Summer feels from their music, they’re sound is a must-have in my growing number of “rainy day” playlists since Toronto decided it’s weather would mimic the UK.
Tanlines did something I forgot was possible a few years back by getting a positive review from Pitchfork. Which is really like getting a head nod in the hallway or on Queen West from some douchey hipster who think he/ or she knows more about music than you but still.
In 2012 the musical duo had a track of theirs reach #43 on Rolling Stone magazine’s best songs of 2012 with “All of Me”.
The pair recently released a new single, and video for ‘Patience’ starring Orange is The New Black/ American Pie star and #WCE Natasha Lyonne.
The video was also Written and directed by Girls‘ Alex Kapovsky and Teddy Blanks as part of the UO Music Video Series
A very SXSW band, the two have played with Vampire Weekend, Rock Ross, and more. I look forward to hearing more from Tanlines.
Stay tuned tomorrow for an new interview with comedian, and star of Are You The One, and The Challenge: Battle of The Exes II on MTV John Jacobs where we talk TV, become best friends, and Amy Schumer comes up at one point. idk
