Following their recent Winter 2023/2024 tour, British Columbia’s own DEFIED, has released a brand-new track with prophet. and a massive festival announcement.

DEFIED, a duo of JJ Watts and Vs, made waves at Friendship cruising from Miami to Belize, brought their chill (I see the pun already, and I love it) to Metaphoenix Presents: Whiteout in Toronto, and at Kinetic.
The duo, alongside DJ Justin Blaze, combined the flows of Watts (plus her incredibly sultry voice) and Vs playing some of their hits such as ‘Walls‘ and ‘Can’t Stop‘.

Last week JJ Watts and Vs and gave the fans what we needed and wanted with their latest release titled ‘Along for the Ride‘

I feel like “Along for the Ride” represents DEFIED in a lot of ways. It’s a collab with prophet. who made this beat. It’s got solid bars from Vs. right off rip, and then I do a ton of vocal layering – shout out to our mastering producer Ayobudd who puts up with my passionate notes. I’m pretty sure it involved Mozart’s Requiem and Les Miserables. JJ Watts said when asked about the new track.

But this isn’t the only big announcement for the group, Shambhala, a Canadian music festival tucked between the mountains of Salmo, BC, took to their official Instagram account to let festival goers know who to expect at the various stages.

That’s right, DEFIED is returning to Shambhala for the second year in a row.
