Originally appearing as a finalist on the well-known Canadian TV show The Next Star, Kaleia’s artistic eloquence has drawn the attention of listeners since she was just 7 years old. After recently signing her first publishing deal with Sunday Dinner Music Group, she has been in collaboration with notable producers such as Kelland (Monstercat), Ethan Johnson (Audrey Nuna), and House of Wolf (Carlie Hanson). She is currently one month away from releasing her debut EP titled HERE FOR NO GOOD, which will include her last four singles as well as three new songs.

The Story Behind “HERE FOR NO GOOD”

From declaring you’ve had enough to confessing you can’t get enough, HERE FOR NO GOOD answers the question of “how did I end up here again?”

Listeners are thrust into the empowered, convicting lyricism of “Dead Weight” and “Sonofagun”, only to be struck by the bittersweet revelation that leaving is the only way out in “White Lie” and “Better”. As “Mine Until The Morning” dawns, the air fills with the fluttering excitement of desire, captured in lyrics like “warm to the touch, I want the air that you’re breathing.” As the story reaches its falling action, listeners are wrapped into Kaleia’s vulnerable side with a ballad: “I choose you” leans into the joy of falling in love again. “Everything Comes Back To You” elegantly ties the conclusion of the story back to its inception, seamlessly bringing listeners full circle to where it all began.

Who IS Kaleia?

Kaleia has emerged as a statistical phenomenon, with her initial two songs securing spots on Spotify’s editorial playlists New Music Friday Canada, Mood Ring, Fresh Finds Canada, and Equal Canada. Kaleia is an inimitable star, her voice an alluring blend of sultry, silky, soulful essence. From the first note, listeners are drawn into a world where vocals drenched in depth and maturity seem almost otherworldly. Influenced by the art of H.E.R., Daniel Caesar, and SZA, Kaleia’s R&B/soul/pop symphonies are a bewitching dance between heart and art. Edmonton-born, Kaleia’s destiny as a performer was written in the stars. By age 7, she was commanding the stage, and by 11, the iconic Sia had already taken notice of her unparalleled talent. Her journey led her to the hallowed halls of Boston’s Berklee, where serendipitous meetings with producers Ethan Johnson and Sunday Dinner would set her path ablaze. Together, they unearthed a treasure of original tracks that melded the raw energy of the big Eastern US cities with her Canadian roots.

Now making waves from her New York home, Kaleia’s voice is a testament to boundless capability, bending and weaving through notes with a flexibility that is both rare and captivating. Dive deep into her universe—a place where each song is a narrative, where emotions run high, and where music transcends.
