“Live every day like it is your last” is a quote that teenager Sadie Mitchell (played by: Morgan Taylor Campbell) takes quite seriously as she believes the apocalypse is coming.
“Everything in high school is like the world ending and Sadie Mitchell’s crippling fear of the coming apocalypse is the heightened version of that. Undeterred by the naysayers, Sadie has two weeks to ready herself before doomsday. She needs to master survivalist cuisine, learn to sew, but there are other things…personal things: go to a high school party, kiss a boy, and most importantly, get her best friend back. ”
If you know me, or are at least an avid reader of my blog then you know how supportive I am of Canadian film, and media( as a failing Canadian actress/film maker I have to support y’all). And I think there is something really special about this project.
The new film “Sadie’s Last Days On Earth” from Michael Seater and Paula Brancati hits theaters tomorrow across North America. If you are wondering how you know Seater, an Brancati’s names it is because the two are pillars in the YTV/Family Channel era (the good one). Michael Seater who wrote and directs the film starred on The Zack Files, an Life With Derek; whereas Paula Brancati who plays ‘Connie‘ in the movie starred on Dark Oracle, and Degrassi: The Next Generation.
The Canadian made flick also has some fellow Degrassi, and Life With Derek alumni stars with Ricardo Hoyos, John Ralston, and Munro Chambers (who rocks an accent and style in this trailer that I am VERY into) .
fun fact: a portion of the film’s funding was crowd sourced
